Our homeschool room seems to have a lot of uses these days. We use this as our AVR room during our family movie nights then once we used this as an extra guest room. Then, lately, I’ve used this as my exercise room too. This really worked well for me since my exercise videos are in my hard drive and therefore use the desktop in the homeschool room to play. Then, I find the rubber ABC mats as a great exercise mat for me too. Oh, this homeschooler mom wants to be fit and know how to get rid of age spots and so, I guess exercise is the best way to maintain health and ‘beauty’. Hmm.....

We’re using the Usborne Encycopedia ( internet linked) for my daughter’s homeschool program. This book is used for her History, Culture, Geography and Science Subjects. The book is very colorful and each page is packed with interesting information. I love the contents of the book as well as the internet links. If you have any Usborne internet linked book, you just go to www.usborne-quicklinks.com and search for the title of the book and key in the pages you’re currently studying. For example, my daughter was studying about the Arts on page 172-173 from her Children’s...

I’m not really a science freak. So, when experiment day comes, my daughter will be so excited to do all her experiments while I try to procrastinate the activities. Most of her experiments need parental supervision. No, they’re not mixing chemicals or making fire pits , but still supervision is still needed to guide them and maybe to minimize the mess too. So, as a good homeschool mom, I’m forced to do the experiments with my daughter. Just the other day, her topic was about ‘Air’, so we made a mini parachute with a small doll as the dummy. We tried to do the experiment...

Aside from ordering my kids’ homeschool books online, I’ve also ordered a few books from Book Depository. Being in a country with few bookstores selling books in English, this site is a bookhaven for me. You see, they offer free shipping worldwide and their costs are quite comparable to the bookstores in our neighboring country, Malaysia. Anyways, I bought a parenting book, a health book and a Bible for my daughter. I had to stop myself from browsing through the books because I might end up buying more and more books. They actually have a whole wide range of books from Christian literature...

Hubby and I have finally made our decision. We won’t be sending our daughter to the local school. Instead, we will be enrolling her in an art school and let her go for swimming lessons. This will be like her ‘extra curricular’ activites and will give her the opportunity to meet new friends too. It’s really good that we haven’t started buying her school stuff yet like her school bag or school uniforms. Now we just have to buy her art materials and swimming gear. It’ll be nice to get one of the Osprey Backpacks too, these backpacks are quite popular for not straining...
